Find Your Best-Fit Support

How to Choose the Right Service Level

You have options: DIY with guidance, done-with-you, and full done-for-you. Here is how to pick what fits your goals, budget, and team.

The three core levels

DIY + Coaching
You do the work with expert checkpoints. Great for founders who love learning and have time to implement.

Done-With-You (DWY)
We share the workload. You handle routine parts. We handle the tricky bits, reviews, and training.

Done-For-You (DFY)
We own the scope end to end. You approve, we deliver.

Quick self-assessment

Answer yes or no.

  1. Do you have 2 to 5 focused hours each week to implement?

  2. Do you have someone comfortable in finance, HR, or tax tools?

  3. Is the work low to medium risk?

  4. Is your deadline flexible?

  5. Do you prefer learning the system yourself?

  6. Do you want to reduce monthly costs by doing routine steps in-house?

  7. Do you need this to be perfect on the first try?

  8. Will a miss hurt cash flow, payroll, taxes, or compliance?

  9. Is this a one-time sprint instead of ongoing work?

Mostly yes to 1–6: DIY or DWY.
Mostly yes to 7–9: DFY.

Examples by scenario

  • New business setup: DIY or DWY if you enjoy learning and have a few weeks. DFY if you need to start paying people next week.

  • Quarterly bookkeeping: DWY if you want us to review and you post routine entries. DFY if you want clean books delivered every month.

  • Tax planning: DWY for strategy sessions and action plans. DFY for full modeling, entity questions, and filing.

  • HR audits and policy: DFY when compliance risk is high or multiple locations are involved.

How pricing usually scales

  • DIY + Coaching: Lowest price. More of your time.

  • DWY: Mid price. Shared time.

  • DFY: Highest price. Least of your time. Often lowest risk.

What to confirm before you sign

  • Who does what by which date

  • How changes impact scope and price

  • What success looks like on the calendar

  • How handoff and training will work

Pro tip

Start with a small, time-boxed engagement. For example, a Setup Audit or Ask An Expert Session. You will see your best-fit level in a week, not a quarter.
